Client:
This project was developed in-house by PARS SAWA as part of the company’s research and development in the field of interactive and educational technologies.
The main goal was to enhance children’s creativity by combining the traditional activity of coloring with Augmented Reality (AR), creating a bridge between the physical and digital worlds in a playful and educational way.
Problem:
Traditional coloring activities, while beneficial for a child’s creative growth, have become less engaging in today’s tech-driven world. Modern children are highly drawn to digital experiences, and as a result, lose interest in purely physical activities.
The challenge was to revitalize the coloring experience—to make it dynamic, immersive, and inspiring—without losing its educational and creative essence.
Process:
The PARS SAWA design and development team began by studying children’s creative behavior and cognitive interaction with visual media.
Using image recognition technology, the app detects the child’s colored drawing, and through augmented reality rendering, brings the same character to life in 3D—animated and perfectly matched with the colors chosen by the child.
The user interface (UI) was designed with bright, friendly visuals and intuitive controls, ensuring accessibility for young users.
Multiple rounds of user testing were conducted with children and parents to evaluate engagement, accuracy, and usability, leading to refinements in both the technical and visual design.
Solution:
The result was the PARS SAWA Coloring AR Application—an augmented reality platform that allows children to color their favorite characters on paper and then see them come alive in full 3D animation through their phone or tablet.
This experience not only entertains but also enhances focus, creativity, and emotional connection between children and their artwork.
According to user testing, more than 80% of participants reported a stronger sense of engagement and motivation to continue coloring.
This project is part of PARS SAWA’s “Creativity Enhancement Initiative,” a program dedicated to integrating learning, play, and emerging technology to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers.
