Packaging Augmented Reality Application

Alis

Client:

This project was developed by PARS SAWA as a demo and proof of concept for Alis Co., a well-known dairy brand.
The goal was to showcase the potential of Augmented Reality (AR) in transforming traditional packaging into an interactive marketing platform—where the package itself becomes a digital storytelling medium that connects directly with customers.

Problem:

In today’s competitive market, brands constantly seek innovative ways to attract and engage their customers.
While traditional packaging serves its protective and visual roles, it often lacks interactive and emotional connection with the audience.
The challenge was to turn product packaging into a living, media-rich experience that not only informs customers about the product but also entertains and involves them through engaging digital content.

Process:

The PARS SAWA design and development team explored how gamification and AR could enhance brand interaction.
Using image recognition technology, the application identifies the product label—specifically, the Alis Doogh (yogurt drink) bottle.
Once the user points their smartphone camera at the label, a promotional video teaser and branded animations appear in real-time around the packaging through augmented reality.

In extended versions of the concept, interactive AR games were designed where customers could play product-based challenges directly on the packaging.
Each product in the brand family could unlock new stages or rewards, encouraging customers to purchase multiple items to complete the experience—thus combining marketing engagement with sales strategy.

Solution:

The result was an AR-enabled mobile application that brings packaging to life.
With the Alis AR App, customers simply scan the label to view an immersive promotional video and digital content hovering around the product.
This approach enhances brand visibility, strengthens customer engagement, and creates a memorable, tech-driven experience that directly contributes to product awareness and sales.

The Alis Co. AR App demonstrates how smart packaging powered by Augmented Reality can bridge the physical and digital worlds, turning an ordinary product box or label into a dynamic communication channel between the brand and its audience.
